I started my weight loss journey in 2008. Now, I am 64 pounds lighter. My motivation came from watching the Biggest Loser and seeing a couple of my friends succeed with their weight loss goals. I lost most of my weight by exercising and eating right the old fashioned way. No, I did not have surgery, take diet pills or participate in any fad diets. I started eating more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lowfat dairy products. I allowed myself to splurge one meal a week, so that I didn’t deprive myself. I also limited mochas to once a month instead of everyday. I started a fitness journal and wrote down all of my weight loss goals. Then I started using fitday.com to track my daily calorie intake and fitness activities. Every day, I would also read fitness and diet articles online or in a fitness magazine. Whenever, I accomplished one of my mini goals, I made sure to treat myself with either a new outfit, fitness gadget, hair style or anything else that I wanted. The first year had its ups and downs. It was hard to change my habits. Though, I kept going back to my diet. The most important thing was that I didn’t beat myself up when I fell off the wagon. I just made sure that I got back on track. I started exercising only 15 minutes a day by either walking on the treadmill or working out on a stationary bicycle. Then every month or so, I increased the intensity of my workouts and started lifting weights. In March of 2010, I started Zumba with Nancy. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous. Just like everyone is when they are trying something new. It took me almost a year to stop procrastinating and go to my first Zumba class. I am so happy that I took the initiative. I absolutely love Zumba and can’t get enough of it. Nancy has helped me lose an amazing 35 pounds. I have never felt so much better in my life. My energy increased and so did my strength. Now, I workout every day and attend Zumba 3 times a week. I didn’t ever think that I would get this far. I feel like a completely different person. Now I know that I can accomplish anything once I put my mind to it. Thank you Nancy and Studio 138 for changing my life! - Jennifer Migaud, February 2011 A Zumba Addict!
I started Zumba about 2 months ago. Although I workout at home too, it is very fun to come and do Zumba in this high energy fast pace atmosphere. I just love it. Zumba has now become part of my regular excercise routine.

Your Zumba classes are fun, a great workout and challenging! Your classes are never the same and you are always adding new songs to the routines. You bring enthusiasm to the class and make the class something to look forward to. Studio 138 has a great atmosphere and the people you meet are interesting and fun to be with.
Thanks for being such an awesome instructor!

I LOVE IT! It's a great place to go to get a great workout! The instructors are all awesome and the variety they offer is awesome as well. I am so glad I started Zumba with Nancy way back when and have been able to be part of the beginning of this great studio!

Like hundreds of others I have tried a number of diets and exercises to lose weight and improve my health - which failed miserably. I read your story on Studio 138 in my local magazine. You offered a variety of classes and times. So, in May, I tried most of the classes once and found what works for me.
I have lost inches, my good cholesterol is up and the arthritis and tendonitis pain in my ankle has reduced. I am also taking less medication.
Most of all - it's fun and I love it! Thank you Studio 138 and to all of the instructors.
